'Nocturnal Animals' Trailer: Amy Adams Is Haunted by a Betrayed Jake Gyllenhaal

"I'm gonna live to regret this."

"When you love someone, you have to be careful," says Jake Gyllenhaal to Amy Adams in the new trailer for Nocturnal Animals.

Written and directed by Tom Ford, the revenge thriller is adapted from Austin Wright’s novel Tony and Susan, and sees Adams unraveling after reading a book penned by her ex-husband (Gyllenhaal), which she interprets to be a veiled threat.

The trailer teases why, as Adams is shown saying, “I did something horrible to him. I left him in a brutal way.”

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Michael Shannon, Isla Fisher, Armie Hammer, Laura Linney and Michael Sheen are also featured in the Focus Features film, which won the Grand Jury Prize of the Venice Film Festival.

Nocturnal Animals hits limited theaters on Nov. 18 and expands nationwide on Dec. 9.
