Nolte leads the way with 'Arcadia Lost'

Nick Nolte, Haley Bennett and Carter Jenkins face a Greek holiday tragedy in the indie coming-of-age-drama "Arcadia Lost."

Bennett and Jenkins play step-siblings whose first family trip is cut short by a car crash. With their parents dead, the stunned teens roam the Greek countryside and befriend an expatriate vagabond (Nolte) who leads them to a mysterious spiritual ceremony.

Director Phedon Papamichael, best known as the cinematographer of "Sideways" and "Walk the Line," is filming David Ariniello's screenplay in his home country with producer Kelly Thomas. The shoot can be tracked by Facebook members in the site's "Follow a Film" section.

The Gersh/Untitled Entertainment-repped Bennett can be seen next month opposite Chace Crawford in the title role of "The Haunting of Molly Hartley." Endeavor/In Momentum-repped Jenkins will next be seen in Fox's "They Came From Upstairs." Two-time Oscar nominee Nolte, repped by CAA and Kingsgate Films, recently starred in Paramount's "The Spiderwick Chronicles."

"Arcadia" is produced by Chambers Prods. with Roadworks Pictures and Top Cut Prods. Scott Chambers is executive producer, and Dana Siebert is the exec in charge of production for Chambers. (partialdiff)
