'Norwand' set to scale Locarno

Swiss Alps tale will screen Aug. 9

ROME -- Locarno's Piazza Grande will host the world premiere of Philipp Stolzl's "Norwand" (North Face), which tells the story of a pair of Bavarian mountain climbers' dramatic adventure on the Eiger in the Swiss Alps.

Shot partially on location on the face of the Eiger, the Swiss-German-Austrian co-production will screen Aug. 9 on Europe's largest outdoor screen.

The 61st edition of the Locarno festival is set for Aug. 6-16.
