The film starring Melissa Leo, Margaret Qualley, and Dianna Agron debuted at Sundance.

Maggie Betts, whose film Novitiate had a breakthrough debut at Sundance, has signed with CAA.

Betts wrote and directed the film, starring Melissa Leo, Margaret Qualley and Dianna Agron, which follows a young woman in the 1960s training to become a nun as she struggles with issues of faith, the changing church and sexuality.

The Hollywood Reporter's review described the film as "stylish, impressively performed and intellectually ambitious."

Sony Pictures Classics scooped up the rights to the film at the festival. CAA brokered the deal.

Betts previously helmed the doc The Carrier about the AIDS epidemic. She also helmed a short-film collaboration with designer Prabal Gurung called Engram.

Along with CAA, she continues to be repped by Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
