His departure comes several days after Open Road chief Tom Ortenberg left the company, which is under new ownership.

Loren Schwartz is exiting as marketing president of Open Road Films.

His exit comes amid new ownership at the indie film studio, and also comes days after Open Road CEO Tom Ortenberg announced he is leaving the company.

Tang Media Partners bought the indie film studio in August from AMC Entertainment and Regal Entertainment, which launched Open Road in 2011.

Tang has tapped Rob Friedman to run the newly formed Global Road Entertainment, which includes Open Road, foreign sales venture IM Global and IM Global Television.

Schwartz had been in the marketing job since April.

He was previously executive vp marketing at Screen Gems, where he oversaw such films as Evil Dead, Resident Evil, Think Like a Man, Heaven Is for Real and The Vow. Schwartz's most recent position was executive vp genre marketing and advertising at Warner Bros. Before Screen Gems, he was senior vp creative advertising at Columbia Pictures, where he worked on more than 60 films, including Superbad, Pineapple Express, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Anger Management and 50 First Dates.

Friedman hasn't yet named Schwartz's replacement.
