Oprah gives audience trip to Australia

Announces on Monday's 25th season premiere

How could Oprah Winfrey top her car giveaway?

By taking her entire studio audience to Australia!

Winfrey announced the trip on the season premiere of her show Monday, to be her last after 25 years on air. The audience was made up of Winfrey's most loyal viewers, as culled by producers. The talk show host will join them on an eight-day, all expenses paid trip Down Under, with fees and taxes included (she was slammed after not picking up the full tab on the Pontiac giveaway).

"This is really my last chance to do something really big," Winfrey said. "And if you want to do something big, you would want to take along your ultimate viewers."

"I started to think about where would I most want to go. Maybe I should take all of you with me to the other side of the world…We're going to Australia! We are going to Australia! You and you and you and you, are going to Australia!" she added.

Adding hype to the announcement: Pal John Travolta drove a Qantas airplane onto the stage as confetti fell and the audience began screaming.

Also on the premiere of Winfrey's last season: a surprise performance by Paul Simon, which she calls her "favorite, favorite, favorite." Winfrey broke down in tears by the time he wrapped up his song.

Producers also put together a montage of some of Winfrey's most memorable moments.

She'll focus on launching her OWN network full time after her show goes off the air in 20011.
