Oprah to interview Sarah Palin

Former governor's book due next month

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will appear on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on Nov. 16.

Her first sitdown with Winfrey will kick off Palin's publicity campaign in support of her upcoming book "Going Rogue: An American Life."

Palin burst onto the national political scene in August 2008 as running mate for Sen. John McCain in last year's presidential election and became an instant media celebrity.

At the time, there was speculation that Winfrey, a strong supporter of McCain's rival Barack Obama, had banned Palin from appearing on her show. Reps for "Oprah Winfrey" denied the rumors and said that Palin would be welcomed on the show -- after the election.

The Nov. 16 broadcast, titled "The Oprah Winfrey Show: Exclusive -- Oprah Talks to Sarah Palin," also follows on Palin's summer decision to step down as Governor of Alaska.
