Conde Nast Entertainment has named Oren Katzeff its new president.

Katzeff, a digital media veteran who most recently served as head of programming at Tastemade, takes over the business from Dawn Ostroff, who left CNE in June to lead content at Spotify. In his new role, Katzeff will assume responsibility for the publisher's film, TV and digital studio.

"We had incredible interest in this role from highly accomplished candidates with backgrounds ranging from traditional television and film to digital pure-plays, but Oren stood out because of his unique insight, ability to create addictive content, and innovative operational expertise," said Conde Nast CEO Bob Sauerberg. "Conde Nast has always discovered and nurtured the next generation of designers, photographers, writers and editors, and in Oren, we see the future of our video business."

Katzeff comes to CNE from Tastemade, a digital video startup that produces food and travel programming. While there, he served as executive producer of Tastemade shows for Audience Network and Facebook Watch, as well as feature documentary Funke. Prior to joining Tastemade, Katzeff, a former lawyer who received his undergraduate degree and J.D. from the University of California, ran marketing and audience development at ZEFR. His resume also includes stints at Demand Entertainment and Yahoo.

Television veteran Ostroff co-founded CNE in 2011 to take advantage of Conde Nast's vast library of IP through video production. CNE has since produced a slate of digital programming with its variety of magazine brands, including Vogue's 73 Questions, Wired's Autocomplete Interview and GQ's Actually Me. CNE is also behind Last Chance U on Netflix, and feature films Only the Brave and The Old Man & the Gun. CNE says its videos average over 1 billion views a month.

"Conde Nast has a long history of building iconic brands and entertaining its audience with amazing storytelling," said Katzeff. "I am excited about the opportunity to lead the team at such an inflection point for CNE's growing video business, and to achieve continued greatness across the digital landscape."
