The Turkish capital has been hit by a series of terrorist attacks, including a car bomb blast last week that killed 12.

Organizer Basic Lead has canceled next year's Discop Istanbul television market amid ongoing security concerns following a spate of bombings in the Turkish capital.

Basic Lead, which launched Discop Istanbul in 2008, said it hoped to return to the city in 2018.

Turkey has been rocked by a series of bomb attacks over the past few months, including a deadly car bombing last week that killed 12 people.

The Discop Istanbul event was part of a circuit of television industry markets focused on emerging and growth territories. Turkey has been among the fastest-growing television markets over the past few years, and Turkish TV series have been among the most successful in exporting abroad, particularly in the Middle East and to Latin America.
