Original Media hires Jay Peterson

Former K2 principal overseeing production, development

NEW YORK -- Original Media has appointed Jay Peterson to the post of senior vp of production and development.

A former principal at K2 Pictures, Peterson comes to this newly created position at a time when Original Media is undertaking its most ambitious production slate yet. Projects in production include three unscripted television series, "LA Ink", "The Rachel Zoe Project," "Storm Chasers," and "The Philanthropist." Original Media's film credits include the Oscar-nominated indies "Half Nelson" and "The Squid and the Whale."

Peterson will oversee daily operations in the production and creative departments, managing more than 10 television projects on seven different networks. He comes from a television production and creative development background, having supervised these departments at New York production company K2 Pictures and VH1.

Peterson holds an MBA from Wharton and currently resides in New York.
