Former Original Productions Exec Brandon Killion Joins Cineflix Media
The "American Pickers" producer has tapped the Los Angeles-based reality TV veteran to oversee development after an unscripted division restructuring.
TORONTO – Cineflix Media's has followed up an unscripted division shakeup by hiring former Gurney Productions and Original Productions exec Brandon Killion as its new executive vp programming and development.
Based in Los Angeles, Killion will oversee unscripted development for Canadian and U.S. broadcasters.
Killion earlier headed up production at U.S. indie Gurney Productions, where his slate included A&E's Duck Dynasty, and before that spent seven years at Thom Beers’ Original Productions where he cast and developed shows like Ax Men and Swords: Life on the Line, and ran American Hoggers and Ice Road Truckers.
"Brandon has been a part of some of the biggest and most successful current TV brands and has the skill set and creative pulse to develop groundbreaking new shows," said Cineflix Media co-CEO Glen Salzman in a statement.
Killion will work closely with New York City-based Charles Tremayne, who was recently promoted to president of production, overseeing North American unscripted production, and Toronto-based Kim Bondi, executive vp production, to pitch broadcasters on new shows.
The strategy is getting more unscripted shows and global formats into Hollywood after the Canadian company had success stateside with popular reality TV shows like American Pickers and Property Brothers.
Cineflix Media has also bolstered its London office as it looks beyond the Canadian market to make further inroads into the U.S. and British TV markets.
The Canadian producer/distributor has offices in Toronto, Montreal, New York, Los Angeles, London and Dublin, and produces around 250 hours of programming a year.
