Oscar Winner Kevin Macdonald to Deliver Ernest Lindgren Memorial Lecture

LONDON – Oscar-winning director Kevin Macdonald will deliver the Ernest Lindgren Memorial Lecture in December at the British Film Institute.

Macdonald will discuss “the creative possibilities and challenges offered by archive material” at the event organized by the BFI.

Macdonald’s feature length documentary output includes a movie portrait of his grandfather Emeric Pressburger, One Day in September for which he scored an Academy Award, the Ridley and Tony Scott-produced Life In A Day in partnership with YouTube and the upcoming Bob Marley biopic, Marley.

He also has an exec producer role for Asif Kapadia’s Senna, a documentary about the late Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna backed by Working Title Films, Studio Canal and Universal Pictures.

Ernest Lindgren was the first Curator of what is now the BFI National Archive.
