Oscars 2015: Watch Michael Keaton Tuck Something in His Jacket After Eddie Redmayne Wins (Video)
Did the 'Birdman' star have a speech in his hand?
This year's best actor Oscar race was a close one, with pundits saying it was a tight competition between Michael Keaton and Eddie Redmayne and they weren't entirely sure who would win. Still, many of the experts, including The Hollywood Reporter's own Scott Feinberg, gave the edge to Redmayne. And ultimately Redmayne pulled out the win. But it wouldn't be unusual if Michael Keaton was prepared to hear his name called by Cate Blanchett.
And, if you look closely at the clip of Redmayne being announced as the winner, and taking the stage, it looks like Keaton had a speech in his hand.
The Birdman star can be seen tucking some papers under his arm and biting his lower lip as Redmayne is announced as the winner. As Redmayne takes the stage, Keaton, it appears, takes whatever he tucked under his arm and puts it in his jacket pocket.
Watch the clip of Redmayne's win (and Keaton's loss) below, and keep your eye on the Birdman star, who's seated in the front row on the right side of the screen as Redmayne is shown taking the stage. There's also a Vine with an even closer look at Keaton.
Keaton's rep has not yet responded to THR's request for comment.
