Oscars 2015: Willow Bay Wears Rodarte's 'Star Wars' Dress on the Red Carpet

Daring on the carpet, Willow was.

Well, it was bound to happen. The second we saw L.A.-based label Rodarte send Star Wars-stamped gowns out on its fall 2014 runway last February, we knew it was just a matter of time until one of the whimsical designs showed up on a major red carpet. And at Sunday's Oscars, the brand's Yoda dress finally found a home on former news anchor Willow Bay, the current USC Annenberg School of Journalism director who attended this year's awards ceremony with her husband, Disney CEO Bob Iger

Sure, the outfit choice (both its Star Wars theme and the youthful, high fashion nature of sibling-designed Rodarte in general) seems a bit daring for someone who once served as a correspondent on ABC's World News Sunday. But Bay — a former Ford model and Estee Lauder spokesperson — seems to be a proponent of fashion, having turned up at past LACMA Costume Council events. She's also a vintage jewelry aficionado and is known to rock mid-century costume pieces on the carpet. But we speculate that Bay had a good reason for the outfit choice: hubby Iger is behind Disney's upcoming J.J. Abrams-helmed Star Wars reboot hitting theaters this December.

Supportive spouse and daring dresser? The force is already with her.
