Chris Rock wrote, directed and starred as an African-American presidential candidate in the 2003 comedy. Rock later said in an interview in 2008 that he did not think he’d see an African American president in his lifetime. “If I thought it was possible, I don’t think I’d have made the movie quite that silly,” he said.

Rock joins Bradley Cooper, Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Lopez and the cast of Bridesmaids as a presenter in the ceremony, which is being held Feb. 26. Rock hosted the Academy Awards telecast in 2005 to minor controversy, making fun of the ceremony and sending up Hollywood.

2010’s Grown Ups was Rock’s last film, but previously he starred in Death at a Funeral, Madagascar, Head of State, Pootie Tang, Lethal Weapon 4, and New Jack City among many more. Rock has two high profile projects coming up this year, an adaptation of the book What To Expect When You’re Expecting and Madagascar 3.
