Oscars: Chris Rock Posts Cryptic "Blackout" Tweet
7:39 AM PST 2/26/2016 by Ryan Parker

"See you Sunday..."
Academy Awards host Chris Rock posted a tweet in the middle of the night that included a 15-second video of TV static.
The only message with the tweet was "See you Sunday... #blackout #oscars."
Rock's opening Oscar monologue is highly anticipated following zero non-white actors being nominated for the second year in a row.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Rock said he hasn't settled on the guts of his monologue, but alluded to pay inequality and the superhero glut as additional likely topics.
The #OscarsSoWhite controversy has led to multiple celebs skipping the event. Directors Ava DuVernay and Ryan Coogler, who was snubbed for Creed, will be featured in a free live benefit that will take place during the Oscars on Sunday night.
In the wake of the lack of diversity among nominees, it was revealed the Academy would take additional steps to reshape its membership.
