Oscars Poll: What Was the Most Memorable Moment From the 2017 Show (After Best Picture Flub)?
Yes, there was that epic mistake that ended the ceremony. But there were other unforgettable highlights from Sunday's Academy Awards.
At Sunday night’s 89th Academy Awards, Bonnie and Clyde stars Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway presented the final award for the night, the best picture Oscar.
After Beatty hesitated, Dunaway announced La La Land as the year's best picture. The cast and crew of the film made their way to the stage and began their acceptance speeches when they realized something was wrong.
Host Jimmy Kimmel and Beatty interrupted to correct the mistake that Moonlight was the actual winner. La La Land producer Jordan Horowitz informed viewers, “This is not a joke,” and showed the card to the camera.
Beatty then said that he and Dunaway had mistakenly been given the card for best actress, which was presented to La La Land's Emma Stone right before. The mistake seemed to overshadow the rest of the night's events — with social media still abuzz over the epic gaffe the next day.
But there were many other moments that were hard to forget. Apart from best picture mistake, which moment from the award show do you think was the most memorable? Feel free to add your own moments in the comments below!
