Oscars: Sufjan Stevens Performs "Mystery of Love" From 'Call Me by Your Name'
The track from the 1980s-set coming-of-age romance is up for best original song.
Sufjan Stevens took the Oscars stage on Sunday night to perform his song “Mystery of Love” from Call Me by Your Name.
Presenter Daniela Vega, the newcomer from A Fantastic Woman, talked about how important the first love one experiences is, which is exactly what the movie tackles.
This year's ceremony is Stevens' first time performing at the Academy Awards. The singer-songwriter, joined by his band, took to a simple stage with an Italian-inspired background to sing the soft ballad.
Call Me by Your Name takes place in 1980s Italy and focuses on the romance between 17-year-old boy and his father's research assistant. The film earned three nominations, including for best picture.
