Ottinger back at MGM for int'l TV

International TV veteran Christopher Ottinger is moving to MGM's Worldwide Television Group as executive vp international television distribution.

He will have direct oversight of MGM's pay television licensing and business development activities outside of the U.S. and Canada.

The move reunites him with MGM Worldwide TV co-president Gary Marenzi.

"Chris is an experienced and talented executive whose broad skills set will serve us well in MGM's entrepreneurial environment," Marenzi said Wednesday. "Having collaborated with Chris during his first stint at MGM, as well as at Paramount, I am pleased to welcome him back to the MGM team."

Ottinger will be based at MGM's headquarters in Los Angeles and report to Marenzi. He will work closely with Marenzi on overall international TV sales planning as well as collaborating on acquisitions and programming initiatives.

Ottinger most recently was executive vp at Fox World and Fox Television Studios International, where he oversaw the production of more than 30 format productions per year. He launched the unit's scripted format and scripted series sales operations and set up production companies in India and France. He also managed production companies in the U.K., Australia and New Zealand.

Ottinger spent 1997-2005 as senior vp business development and co-production for Paramount International Television. Before that, he was executive director of business affairs for MGM's international and domestic television operations.
