'Outcast' Trailer: Nicolas Cage Saves the Children With His Sword

Watch a long-haired Cage laugh maniacally after saying, "I am the White Ghost"

Nicolas Cage has long hair and a blood-covered face but not a care in the world in the first trailer for the upcoming sword-and-top knots flick Outcast

The film takes place during the Crusades, with Cage playing a rebellious outlaw named Gallain who helps Arken (Hayden Christensen) protect the rightful heir to the Chinese throne. And yes, a lot of people get stabbed.

In a scene you'll have to watch to believe, Cage has quite a colorful reaction when he learns the young heir's actual age. Apparently, birth certificates weren't a big thing back then.

Nick Powell directed the film from a script by James Dormer. Meanwhile, Cage has been a busy man of late, with his apocalyptic thriller Left Behind hitting theaters in October.

Outcast opens in theaters Feb. 27, 2015.
