Kristen Wiig Drama 'Nasty Baby' Among Top Outfest Winners
'Fourth Man Out' and 'The Glamour and the Squalor' take audience awards for top dramatic and documentary films.
Andrew Nackman’s Fourth Man Out, a comedy about a young, blue-collar gay man, and Marq Evans' The Glamour and the Squalor, a portrait of rock radio DJ Marco Collins, won the audience awards for dramatic feature and documentary feature, respectively, at the 2015 Outfest Los Angeles LGBT Film Festival, which concludes today.
Top jury prizes were awarded to U.S. dramatic film Nasty Baby, directed by Sebastian Silva; international dramatic feature Everlasting Love, directed by Marcal Fores; and documentary feature A Sinner in Mecca, directed by Parvez Sharma.
The Freedom Award was given to Jim Chuchu and the Nest Collective for Stories of Our Lives, which looks at LGBTQ Kenyans, and an award for artistic achievement was given to Rigoberto Perezcano for Carmin Tropical, a Mexico-set murder mystery whose lead character is a trans nightclub singer.
The festival closes tonight with a screening of Francois Ozon’s The New Girlfriend.
