Pair in for Hanrahan at NBC Uni TV
EmptyLongtime NBC executive Martha Hanrahan, head of NBC Universal TV's music services department, will retire at year's end.
NBC and Universal veterans Alicen Schneider and Nicole de la Torriente have been tapped to replace her as co-heads of the department.
Schneider has been promoted to vp music creative services, and de la Torriente to vp music business affairs. Both will report to Beth Roberts, executive vp business affairs for NBC Universal's TV divisions.
"Both Alicen and Nicole have proven to be exceptional in their 12 years here, and they will be replacing Martha, who has elected to leave NBC as a virtual living legend in her department," Roberts said. "She will be sorely missed, and we wish her the best in her retirement and other future activities."
In her new capacity, Schneider will continue to oversee music supervision for episodic series, the NBC Agency promotion marketing campaigns, and other creative projects for NBC Universal TV and its subsidiaries, as well as publishing and catalogue development.
De la Torriente will oversee the business and financial responsibilities of the department, including licensing strategies, distribution and new business development.
In her previous position as vp music supervision for NBC Universal TV Music, Schneider was responsible for music supervision on NBC's "Heroes" and "Crossing Jordan" and Sci Fi Channel's "Eureka," as well as for licensing of NBC Universal TV programming as well as NBC Agency promo and marketing campaigns.
Schneider joined NBC in 1994 as a coordinator in music services and was subsequently upped to administrator, manager and director.
De la Torriente most recently served as director in Universal Studios' TV Music Division, handling music for such shows as "House" and "The Office."
She joined Universal in 1996 as manager business development and licensing business development in the home video division and moved to the TV group two years later.
