Paramount Names Bob Buchi President of Worldwide Home Media Distribution
The exec previously held the title of executive vp worldwide marketing at the studio.
Bob Buchi has been promoted to president of worldwide home media distribution at Paramount, the studio announced on Friday. The exec had earlier held the title of executive vp worldwide marketing at the studio.
He will succeed Dennis Maguire, who stepped down as president of worldwide home media distribution last month amid the company-wide restructuring ordered by Paramount parent company Viacom.
Buchi will report to president of worldwide distribution and marketing Megan Colligan, who commented in a statement, “Within an ever-evolving home media landscape, Bob’s proven track record of success across a diverse portfolio of theatrical releases, acquisitions, family and television product makes him the ideal person to lead our team as we continue to strive for even greater creativity and innovation."
Buchi, who joined the studio in 2006, most recently oversaw the brand, digital and retail marketing teams and was responsible for product marketing and management of studio franchises like Transformers, Star Trek, SpongeBob SqaurePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, G.I. Joe and Paranormal Activity, the studio said.
The studio also announced that Peter Giannascoli's role as senior vp marketing for home media is expanding to include oversight of worldwide marketing for his division. In addition to Giannascoli, Buchi's senior global team includes Gaspare Benso, general manager of international home media distribution, who will oversee the previously announced transition of Paramount's international physical distribution to Universal. Buchi's domestic team of senior execs includes Jeff Hastings, senior vp domestic sales; Tripp Wood, senior vp digital sales and distribution; Howard Hsieh, vp business development and strategic analysis; and Ryan Stouffer, senior vp of VMI and operations.
