Paramount Pictures acquires Screenlife

Company created "Scene It?" video-based trivia games

Paramount Pictures has acquired Screenlife LLC, creator of the "Scene It?" game franchise, the company announced Tuesday.

The Viacom-owned studio snapped up the Seattle-based company with an eye towards pushing deeper into digital content initiatives. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

While Screenlife will continue to operate as a standalone company, it will report into Paramount Digital Entertainment.

"The acquisition of Screenlife advances Paramount Digital Entertainment's multiplatform strategy and will enable us to create new digital content that is interactive, entertaining and easily accessible to audiences everywhere," said Thomas Lesinski, president, Paramount Digital Entertainment.

"Scene" is a series of video-based trivia games that has soled over 15 million titles on the DVD, mobile, VOD and video game platforms. Since launching in 2002, "Scene" has released 25 titles.
