Participant elevates Jeff Ivers to COO

Joined company as CFO in 2004 as one of first employees

Jeff Ivers has been promoted to COO of Participant Media, the company's CEO Jim Berk said Wednesday.

Ivers, who joined Participant as CFO in 2004 as one of its first employees, has served as exec vp business affairs and M&A since 2006 and was instrumental in negotiating such deals as Participant's distribution arrangement with Summit Entertainment, its $250 million film financing fund with Imagenation Abu Dhabi and its equity investment in Me to We. He also handled co-financing and distribution arrangements for all of Participant's films, including "Good Night, and Good Luck," "Syriana," "The Visitor" and "An Inconvenient Truth."

Before that, was CFO and later COO of the Motion Picture Corp. of America.

"Jeff has had an extraordinary impact on the company since its earliest days, and this elevation reflects both his contribution and the dramatic increase in activity within business affairs and mergers & acquisitions," Berk said.
