Participant Media ties food drive to 'Soloist' effort aims to collect 1 million pounds

Participant Media and are partnering for Feed the Need, a youth-oriented drive to collect 1 million pounds of food for Americans by Dec. 15.

The endeavor is tied to the DreamWorks/Paramount/Universal release "The Soloist," which stars Jamie Foxx as a homeless vioinist. Originally set for a November release, the film is now due in April.

Foxx and "High School Musical" star Corbin Bleu have taped public-service announcements for the initiative. Five $1,000 arts grants and one "Soloist" screening will be awarded.
