Party Rock: DJ Alexandra Richards' Soulful Playlist at Piaget's Beverly Hills Event
The daughter of Patti Hansen and Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards played tunes by Aretha Franklin and Lou Reed, while guests including Jessica Chastain and Natalie Dormer admired the Swiss label's latest collection
Surrounded by securely-encased displays of one-of-a-kind diamond-encrusted watches and jewelry pieces engraved with special gems, Hollywood marveled at Piaget's latest collection of luxury timepieces and jewels at the Swiss label's Rodeo Drive boutique on Thursday night. Jessica Chastain, who arrived in a vibrant tangerine Dior dress and bright pink Christian Louboutin heels, marveled at all the sparkle while Piaget CEO Philippe Leopold-Metzger gave her a tour around the store to present the "Extremely Piaget" collection inspired by the brand's historical pieces from the 1960s and '70s.
While Chastain chatted with Leopold-Metzger, her bestie, Jess Weixler, sipped on bubbly and mingled with guests including celeb stylist Jeff Kim and his client, Pretty Little Liars star Sasha Pieterse. Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer also dropped by the intimate event, wearing a colorfully striped House of Holland dress ("It's by Henry Holland, a fellow Londoner," she says), strappy Jerome C. Rosseau stilettos and Piaget watch. Though Dormer tells Pret-a-Reporter she doesn't count herself as an accessories type-of-girl, she notes, "What I am enjoying wearing a lot at the moments, if we're talking about gems, is Elizabeth Gage jewelry and obviously, Piaget. They have extravagant, exciting creations, always."
Other famous faces who also attended the cocktail party included The Hunger Games' Meta Golding, American Hustle's Elisabeth Rohm and Glee's Dianna Agron, who recently directed the new music video for the Goldroom's single "Till Sunrise."
Throughout the night, partygoers enjoyed savory bite-sized treats (mini salmon pizza bites, included) and tunes from DJ Alexandra Richards' playlist, which featured old-school classic jams from Lou Reed ("Walk on the Wild Side"), The Ronettes ("By My Baby") and Aretha Franklin ("Sweet Sweet Baby Since You've Been Gone"). But the song that summed up the evening best — "Good Times" by Chic, and indeed it was.
