The actor, writer and standup comic's film credits include 2011's Young Adult opposite Theron, 2009's Big Fan and the voice of Ratatouille in the 2007 animated Pixar movie of the same name. On TV, he recently guest starred in Burn Notice, Two and a Half Men and Justified, and has a recurring role on the upcoming second season of HBO's Newsroom. He also stars on the Adult Swim comedy The Heart, She Holler.

Oswalt's heartfelt, hope-filled response to Monday's Boston Marathon bombings went viral on social media.

"This is beyond religion or creed or nation," he wrote on Facebook. "We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We'd have eaten ourselves alive long ago. So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, 'The good outnumber you, and we always will.'"
