Sony Pictures Television has promoted longtime communications executive Paula Askanas.
The former senior vp media relations has been upped to executive vp communications, reporting to SPT president Steve Mosko.
In her new role, Askanas will oversee business and trade press as well as internal communication for the company, serving as a liaison for internal and external news both stateside and internationally.
“Paula’s ability to understand both a variety of businesses, as well as the diverse needs of our global operations, has made her a tremendous asset to the company,” Mosko said Tuesday in announcing the news. “As SPT has grown and succeeded, so has she, and her relationships and our exceptional representation in the media are the proof.”
Askanas joined Sonyas a director, working on consumer press for the studio’s TV series and was promoted to vp and senior vp. In 2005, her role transitioned from consumer to business communications and expanded again when SPT’s U.S. and international groups merged.
