Perissich out at Telecom Italia

ROME -- Riccardo Perissich, chairman of Telecom Italia Media and a member of the company's board of directors, has stepped down from his post, the company announced Friday.

Telecom Italia Media is the unit of the former state telecommunications monopoly that runs La 7, the smallest of Italy's seven national networks. The subsidiary also oversees the parent company's push to become a more important media player by delivering new content online.

Perissich's resignation is the latest change in a shakeup of Telecom Italia's leadership sparked by the resignation of chairman Marco Tronchetti Provera last September after a clash with the company's board and the government over business strategy.
