Emmys: Peter Dinklage Wins Supporting Actor in a Drama Series

Andy Samberg hosted the Primetime Emmy Awards from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Peter Dinklage took home the Emmy for supporting actor in a drama series for his performance in Game of Thrones at Sunday night's ceremony.

Dinklage was up against Jonathan Banks (Better Call Saul), Ben Mendelsohn (Bloodline), Jim Carter (Downton Abbey), Alan Cumming (The Good Wife) and Michael Kelly (House of Cards) for the award.

The Game of Thrones actor took the stage and thanked the scribes of the show, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, saying, “We're only as good as our writers.” He also thanked Thrones novelist George R.R. Martin, who was celebrating his 67th birthday during the Emmys broadcast.

Dinklage previously won the award in 2011 for his role as the cunning Tyrion Lannister.
