PGA to fete Bruckheimer for TV work

The Producers Guild of America will honor Jerry Bruckheimer with its Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television.

The film and TV producer, who has seven shows on network television, including three programs spawned from the "CSI" franchise, will be feted during the PGA's 18th annual awards gala on Jan. 20 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City.

Bruckheimer is "the rare producer who has achieved prolific status in both television and feature films and clearly stands as one of the icons of our industry," awards co-chairs Mark Gordon and Hawk Koch said.

"I feel fortunate to be in the company of the talented group of past recipients," Bruckheimer said. These include Lear, John Wells, Lorne Michaels and Bud Yorke.
