PGA to honor MySpace founders

Vanguard nod recognizes new-media achievement

MySpace co-founders Chris DeWolfe and Tom Anderson will receive the Producers Guild of America's 2009 Vanguard Award in January. The honor recognizes outstanding achievement in new media and technology.

"Tom and Chris created a lifestyle portal that redefines the Internet for people around the world," PGA awards co-chairs David T. Friendly and Laurence Mark said. "Their vision resulted in an environment where society interacts at a whole new level."

Previous Vanguard recipients include YouTube's Chad Hurley and Steven Chen, George Lucas and James Cameron.
