Pharrell Takes Us Inside Chanel's Atelier
Karl Lagerfeld called upon his famous pal for an insider's look at the French fashion house's design process.
Pharrell is no stranger to the design world — he most recently debuted his latest collection for Adidas and has collaborated with a number of fashion labels before (Moynat and G-Star Raw included; he even became a co-owner for the latter recently).
So it comes as no surprise that the multihyphenate was enlisted by Karl Lagerfeld to give fans a tour of the French fashion house's design process for Chanel's Metiers d'art Paris in Rome 2015/16 show. In the video below, you can see the record producer joining the creative geniuses that bring the French fashion house's exquisite details to life. Items from the collection will be available in boutiques in June.
This isn't the first time Lagerfeld has recruited Pharrell for Chanel's Metiers d'art presentation. In 2014, the musician starred in a film — directed by the Chanel creative director — in which he and Cara Delevingne played a reincarnated Austrian royal couple who come to life from a painting.
11:35 a.m. Friday, May 27: This post previously stated that Pharrell helped design pieces for the collection. It's been updated to reflect that he wasn't part of the design process.
