Philippe Dauman to give MIPCOM keynote

Will highlight Viacom cable nets, studios

CANNES -- Viacom president and CEO Philippe Dauman will give a keynote speech at this year's upcoming MIPCOM, organizers said Thursday.

Dauman's speech will highlight Viacom's cable networks and film studio properties and will explain how the company has managed to increase ratings and advertising as a result of its more original programming.

"Viacom is a great example of a global entertainment company that has a strong Content 360 strategy across all its divisions," REED Midem director of television Paul Johnson said.

Viacom owns 160 channels and 325 online properties in 160 countries and territories. MIPCOM 2008 will take place from Oct. 13-17 in Cannes.
