Cali cool reached fever pitch last week at the annual Agenda trade show in Long Beach, showcasing the latest offerings of more than 750 surf and streetwear brands. Drawing visitors by the thousands, the two-day apparel and lifestyle show — which has exploded in popularity since its launch in 2003 — was a study in the true essence of laid-back Southern California style, as seen on the likes of attendees including U.S. Olympic snowboarding medalist Amy Purdy, rapper Rick Ross and rocker Travis Barker.
What caught our eye? A rainbow of brightly colored tresses, including a really striking and fresh neon yellow hue (are you reading this, Nicole Richie?); hats in all shapes and sizes, from snapbacks to fedoras; and a strong showing of black-and-white graphic ensembles — with ladies going heavy on the crop tops, natch. And skateboards…lots and lots of skateboards. Here’s the inside look.
