Daft Punk is set to appear in 'Shut Up and Play the Piano,' which will chronicle the artistic journey of the famed Canadian musician.

The life and times of one of the world’s most talented and eccentric musicians is being made into a documentary.

Shut Up and Play the Piano will chart the transformation of Chilly Gonzales from an obsessive underground pianist to an internationally renowned composer and Grammy-winning entertainer, chronicling his artistic journey from Canada to the Berlin scene of the late '90s to philharmonies worldwide and crossing rap, electro and chamber music.

Philipp Jedicke will direct the feature, which is set to star some of Gonzales’s most famous collaborators, including Daft Punk, Peaches, Feist and Jarvis Cocker, and is being introduced to buyers at AFM by Charades, the new banner set up earlier this year by former Wild Bunch veteran Carole Baraton alongside Yohann Comte, Pierre Mazars and Constantin Briest.

Room 29, the latest album from Gonzales — who in 2009 broke the Guinness world record for the longest solo concert (playing for over 27 hours and across 200 songs) — is described as a “song cycle concerning the goings-on in Room 29 of the Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood.”
