Arnold Schwarzenegger on Wednesday received his COVID-19 vaccination and encouraged others who are eligible to do the same.
The 73-year-old Hollywood star and former governor of California posted a video of himself getting the jab at Dodger Stadium, which has been turned from a pandemic testing site into a mass vaccination center.
“Today was a good day. I have never been happier to wait in a line. If you’re eligible, join me and sign up to get your vaccine. Come with me if you want to live!” Schwarzenegger said, using his classic line from the Terminator series. “Thanks for checking me in at @Dodgers Stadium, @MayorOfLA! What a crazy surprise.”
Currently, in Los Angeles County, those who are 65 and older are eligible for the vaccination.
Over the weekend, Steve Martin made headlines when he got his jab in New York. The comic and actor had some fun with it, celebrating that he got the vaccination, but reminded fans he is old.
“Good news/Bad news. Good news: I just got vaccinated! Bad news: I got it because I’m 75. Ha! The operation in NYC was smooth as silk (sorry about the cliché @BCDreyer!) and hosted to perfection by the US Army and National Guard. Thank you all, and thank you science,” Martin said on Twitter.
Martin explained to another user where he went (“I signed up online through an NYC dot gov website [sorry I don’t have the exact site], and waited IN line at the Javits Center”) before cracking a joke to a different user. “Right now, I’m having no fide resects,” he quipped.
