Just back from Asia, President Donald Trump resumed his morning tweeting routine — this time citing what he’s calling a “successful” trip and slamming a regular media target.
The president arrived back at the White House on Tuesday evening after a 12-day tour of Asia, and the tweeting picked up hours later.
He says the United States is “respected again” in the Asia-Pacific region, and he asserts that people “will see the fruits of our long but successful trip for many years to come!”
Trump also is back sparring at CNN, one of his favorite media targets. The president tweeted Wednesday that he was “forced” to watch CNN during the trip and “again realized how bad, and FAKE, it is.” Meanwhile, he said that his Fox News go-to Fox & Friends would be “showing much of our successful trip.”
While in the Philippines I was forced to watch @CNN, which I have not done in months, and again realized how bad, and FAKE, it is. Loser!

Trump also tweeted criticism at The New York Times. He says the paper “hates” that he has good relationships with world leaders and “they should realize that these relationships are a good thing, not a bad thing.” He called the paper “naive (or dumb)” on foreign policy.
The failing @nytimes hates the fact that I have developed a great relationship with World leaders like Xi Jinping, President of China…..

…They should realize that these relationships are a good thing, not a bad thing. The U.S. is being respected again. Watch Trade!

It is actually hard to believe how naive (or dumb) the Failing @nytimes is when it comes to foreign policy…weak and ineffective!

He also took to Twitter to ask whether three UCLA basketball players released from detention in China will thank him. Trump said he raised their case with China’s president when he visited Xi Jinping in Beijing last week.
Freshmen LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley returned to Los Angeles on Tuesday and ignored questions from reporters. Trump tweeted Wednesday: “Do you think the three UCLA Basketball Players will say thank you President Trump? They were headed for 10 years in jail!”

The players were detained in Hangzhou following allegations of shoplifting last week before a game against Georgia Tech in Shanghai.
Pac-12 Conference Commissioner Larry Scott has thanked Trump, the White House and the State Department for their efforts.
Later during a Wednesday press conference, the trio took turns admitting to their actions and apologizing — while also thanking Trump for intervening on their behalf with his Chinese counterpart.
