After Thursday night’s well-watched debate on Fox News, Jewish comedian Jackie Mason is in love with Christian GOP candidate Mike Huckabee for his passionate defense of Israel.
“I have a feeling this man is not even a gentile. He tells you he’s a gentile but I don’t believe it, because he spends all of his time talking about Israel,” Mason will say in a radio interview to air Sunday.
“He is the most passionately concerned about Israel. My rabbi is not half as concerned about Israel as he is,” says Mason, known for his politically incorrect humor for more than five decades.
Israel was brought up in Thursday’s GOP debate because of a deal between the U.S. and Iran that President Barack Obama is promoting. Most Republicans are against the deal because of Iran’s hostility toward Israel.

Huckabee said during the debate that Iran is on the record saying: “We will wipe Israel off the face of the map and we will bring death to America.”
“When someone points a gun at your head and loads it, by God, you ought to take them seriously,” Huckabee said Thursday night.

About a week prior to the debate, Huckabee sparked controversy by saying: “This president’s foreign policy is the most feckless in American history. It is so naive that he would trust the Iranians. By doing so, he will take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven.”
But while those remarks offended some journalists and Jewish activists, they didn’t phase 84-year-old Mason, whose is sometimes referred to by his fans as “The Ultimate Jew.”
“You meet Jews everyday. If you bring up Israel, they don’t even care about it. If you meet this man, that’s all he talks about is Israel. You never even know he’s an American citizen,” Mason says of Huckabee.
“(Prime Minister) Benjamin Netanyahu is not even half as concerned about Israel as he is. I think if he ever becomes president, he’s going to move the White House to Tel Aviv.”
Mason’s interview will be heard Sunday on Aaron Klein Investigative Radio, which is recorded in Israel but airs on AM970 The Answer in New York and NewsTalk 990AM in Philadelphia.
