Donald Trump is taunting CNN to pony up some major dough if the network wants him to participate in the GOP primary presidential debate next month.
While speaking at a rally in Macon, Georgia, on Monday night, Trump said he wanted $5 million from CNN.
Trump made the comments after talking about how unfairly he feels the network has treated him, including with its Monday coverage of his meeting with African American pastors.
“CNN gave me the worst story, it’s like the meeting didn’t even take place,” Trump said. “So maybe, how would you like to do this…I won’t do the debate unless they pay me $5 million, all of which money goes to the Wounded Warriors [Project] or go to vets,” Trump said to loud cheering.

Trump told his supporters he “would love to do it” but warned of ramifications, such as being called out for the decision should he skip the Dec. 15 event in Las Vegas.

“The problem is they’ll say, ‘Trump is chicken,’ ” he said. “One thing I’m not is chicken, okay? I don’t know if I want to take the chance.”
This is not the first time Trump has flirted with the idea of CNN giving money to a charity in return for his appearance in a debate.
In September, for the second debate hosted by CNN, Trump said he wanted the network to donate its proceeds to charity.
Requests for additional comment from Trump’s campaign and CNN were not immediately answered.
