Jimmy Kimmel has cleverly commented on Kanye West‘s announcement that he plans to run for president in 2020.
The rapper revealed his plans while receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award during the MTV Video Music Awards, held on Sunday night at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
“I think Kanye would make a very compelling candidate,” said the late-night host on Monday night. “He has a great deal in common with another famous person who wants to be president.”
The episode then cut to a montage of West’s statements alongside those of Donald Trump, in which the two talked about topics like audience reactions, marijuana and TV ratings.

Guillermo Rodriguez also re-enacted an abridged version of West’s lengthy, winding speech.
