Donald Trump is slamming Fox News journalist and Thursday night’s GOP debate moderator Megyn Kelly, saying that she had “blood coming out of her eyes” when she questioned the former Apprentice star.
In an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon Friday night, Trump referred to Kelly as “overrated” and a “lightweight” and told the reporter, “She gets out and starts asking me all sorts of ridiculous questions.” He continued, “You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her — wherever.”
Trump then thanked Lemon and the CNN staff for their coverage of the GOP candidate: “You guys are making a lot of progress thanks to me. Your ratings are way up because you’re covering Trump all the time,” he said, according to The Hill.
Following Thursday evening’s debate, Trump took to Twitter to share his (first) thoughts about Kelly, tweeting, “Wow, @megynkelly really bombed tonight. People are going wild on twitter! Funny to watch” and “I really enjoyed the debate tonight even though the @FoxNews trio, especially @megynkelly, was not very good or professional!”

On Saturday morning, Trump attempted to clarify his comment on Twitter: “Re Megyn Kelly quote: ‘you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever’ (NOSE). Just got on w/thought.”

In an interview with The New York Times, Trump addressed speculation that his “blood” comment was a reference to menstruation. “I think only a degenerate would think that I would have meant that,” Trump said, adding that he was referring to her nose and ears.
