Donald Trump made an appearance on Bill O’Reilly‘s The O’Reilly Factor Tuesday night to discuss a variety of hot topics, including the Black Lives Matter movement.
His appearance indicates that Fox News Corp. and Trump have seemingly bandaged the rift caused by the GOP candidate after the Aug. 6 primary debate hosted by Megyn Kelly. Following the debate, Trump continuously criticized Kelly on social media and in television interviews, denigrating her moderating and journalistic abilities, which spurred Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes to call for Trump to apologize at the end of August.
His return to The O’Reilly Factor implies that Fox has moved past the dissension ignited by Trump with FNC.
During the Tuesday evening interview, the Fox host asked the GOP candidate what he believes the Black Lives Matter group wants, Trump replied, “I think they’re trouble. I think they’re looking for trouble.”
He continued, “I’ve looked at a couple of the people that were interviewed from the group. I saw them with hate coming down the street last week talking about cops and police and what should be done to them and that was not good. I think it’s a disgrace that they’re getting away with it.”
Trump added, “I think it’s disgraceful the way they’re being catered to by the Democrats.”
He told O’Reilly that the theme of America should be “all lives matter” and “that includes black and that includes white and it includes everybody else.”
When O’Reilly questioned Trump on his stance on Planned Parenthood and why he supports abortion if he believes all lives matter, the GOP candidate responded, “I’m not supporting Planned Parenthood. Somebody said I was supporting Planned Parenthood.” He then corrected the Fox host, “I don’t know where you got this information. I never said that.”
The host and Republican candidate also addressed the migrant crisis in Europe, which Trump called “a serious problem” that has “a lot of security risk with it” for the countries that allow migrants across their borders.
When O’Reilly asked Trump about Kim Davis‘ arrest and release, the former Apprentice host said it “was too bad she had to be put in jail,” but whether or not someone agrees with the laws of the country, “you have to go along with the Supreme Court.”
Tomorrow, Trump will attend a rally on Capitol Hill to protest the nuclear deal made with Iran. “It’s one of the most incompetently-drawn contracts I’ve ever seen. We could have had a much better deal. We could have had a much stronger deal,” Trump said. “This deal is incomprehensible. It should have never been made.”
