New York police are investigating after a threatening letter, possibly containing a white powder, was sent to Donald Trump’s son, Eric, according to authorities and reports.
The letter was received Thursday around 7:15 p.m. at 100 Central Park South, the address of 32-year-old Eric Trump, police told The Hollywood Reporter.
It was removed safely but the investigation is ongoing, police said. There were no reported injuries. The Secret Service told THR that New York police are taking the lead on the investigation.
The threatening letter, reportedly demanding Donald Trump drop out of the presidential race, contained a white powder, according to the New York Post, which cited police sources.
The envelope had a Massachusetts postmark, The Post reported.
No additional information was available.
A request for comment from the Trump campaign was not immediately returned.
