Eminem surprised fans with the new song “Campaign Speech” on Wednesday, ahead of the third and final presidential debate, and in just seven minutes, he delivers a multitude of puns and clever rhymes offering his stance on the most controversial topics in the news, from Trayvon Martin’s killer George Zimmerman to Donald Trump and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
Here’s a roundup of the people Eminem name-checks in “Campaign Speech”:
1. Donald Trump
With a song titled “Campaign Speech,” it was only a matter of time before Trump’s name appeared, and Eminem isn’t too fond of the GOP candidate. “You say Trump don’t kiss ass like a puppet ’cause he runs his campaign with his own cash for the fundin‘,” Em rhymes. “And that’s what you wanted: a f—in’ loose cannon who’s blunt with his hand on the button who doesn’t have to answer to no one.”
2. Edward Norton
Slim Shady references the actor in the opening of “Campaign Speech” before dropping a line about his transformation into a “legend like an expert swordsman.”
3. Chuck Norris
Of course Eminem is the Walker, Texas Ranger of hip-hop — or, as he puts it, “Chuck Norris with a thesaurus.”
4. George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin
Holding nothing back, the Detroit MC mentions George Zimmerman, the man who fatally shot Trayvon Martin, saying he wants to dress Zimmerman in a “florescent orange dress” and gift Martin’s dad Zimmerman’s remains.
5. Colin Kaepernick
The 49ers quarterback has stirred up controversy by kneeling during the national anthem at his games, and Eminem references Kaepernick’s “practice sock” — the socks that have pigs in cop hats plastered all over them.
6. Robin Thicke
Carrying on with the clever puns, Eminem admits he can’t be in a monogamous relationship and drops Robin Thicke into the mix. Thicke went through a public breakup with Paula Patton after reports surfaced of an alleged infidelity.
7. Stacey Dash
The actress turned Fox News commentator has been the subject of ridicule for her comments about Black History Month and beyond.
8. Casey Anthony
Casey Anthony made headlines in 2008 when she was charged with the murder of her 2-year-old daughter and was later acquitted of all charges. Eminem raps about throwing “Stacey Dash’s and Casey Anthony’s crazy asses in the backseat.”
9. Dylann Roof
Elsewhere in his seven-minute rant, Eminem is out to get Dylann Roof, who was responsible for the Charleston Church shooting in June of last year. “Send Dylann Roof through the windshield of the Benz/ Until he spins like a pinwheel and begins feeling like a windmill with a thin bill while his skin’s peeling,” Em rhymes.
Prince is known to don a few lavish clothing pieces, and Eminem thinks a chinchilla-clad Prince is just as ill as the rapper’s lyrical skills.
11. Ben Stiller
“Ben Stiller in a suspense thriller” — not like his typical Tropic Thunder or Zoolander role.
12. Vivica A. Fox
The actress was a former flame of 50 Cent’s, and the “Real Slim Shady” mentions Fox before calling out Fif — his frequent collaborator and labelmate — saying, “That was for 50, little slap on the wrist, be warned.”
13. Christopher Reeve
Eminem toes the line of appropriateness (per usual) with a line about the late Superman actor’s paralyzing horse-riding injury: “Tip it back then I’m twisting wine bottles/ Like what happened to Chris Reeve’s spine column.”
14. Agatha Christie
“The Monster” lyricist is quite confused why so many rappers dis him, and trying to understand the hate he’s received is just as hard as uncovering the truth behind Agatha Christie’s mystery novels.
15. Piper Chapman
Eminem mentions the Orange Is the New Black character — based on memoirist Piper Kerman — in a line that seems to reference the show’s diverse cast of inmates. The rapper goes back to his politically incorrect ways by using the term “hermaphrodites,” when he appears to be talking about the trans characters on OITNB. “Got knives to slash and slice hermaphrodites in half/ Piper Chapmans might just have to picket me.”
