With Hillary Clinton arriving in Los Angeles in less than a week for an ultra-exclusive fundraiser for Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the industry’s top execs are lining up to support to show their support for the former Secretary of State.
The list of co-chairs for the Oct. 20 event, which will include a dinner and reception at Tavern restaurant, now includes Jeffrey Katzenberg, Steven Spielberg and wife Kate Capshaw, Alan and Cindy Horn, Casey Wasserman, Live Nation’s Michael Rapino, tech investor Shervin Pishevar and Andy Spahn, according to an invite circulating among top fundraisers in Hollywood.
In addition to Clinton, senators Dianne Feinstein, Barbara Boxer and Michael Bennet are also attending the event, with tickets selling for $32,400 per person. The invite also states that donors can contribute up to $211,200 to the Grassroots Victory Project 2014, a joint fundraising committee authorized by the DSCC to benefit senatorial candidates around the country. If all goes as planned, the event could end up raising tens of thousands of dollars for the Democrats.
According to the invitation obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, donors were warned that space at the event is limited and that they needed to RSVP by Thursday if they wanted to attend. The fundraiser is considered a coming out of sorts for Clinton’s possible run for president.
