Leonardo DiCaprio will host Hillary Clinton when the Democratic presidential nominee visits Hollywood later this month during a two-day fundraising blitz featuring five big-ticket events in Los Angeles.
Taking place at DiCaprio’s Los Angeles home, guests must shell out $33,400 for a ticket to the lunchtime event on Tuesday, Aug. 23, called a “Conversation With Hillary Rodham Clinton.” The star-studded gathering is also being hosted by Jennifer and Tobey Maguire, Jennifer Aniston, Yael and Scooter Braun, Shonda Rhimes, and ICM Partners’ Chris Silbermann.
According to the Clinton campaign website, the first $2,700 will go to the campaign, while the remaining amount will be allocated to the Democratic National Committee and state parties. Tickets can be purchased here.
The actor previously lent his star power to the Clinton campaign when he attended a Harvey Weinstein-hosted event for Clinton in June. And the DiCaprio-hosted event isn’t the only high-profile Hollywood stop on Clinton’s schedule.
Clinton has also added a private fundraiser (no press allowed) at the home of Magic Johnson and wife Cookie on Monday, Aug. 22, The Hollywood Reporter can confirm.
The visit on Aug. 22 and Aug. 23 will be Clinton’s first trip to Los Angeles since wrapping up the four-day Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, whose lineup was also filled with celebrities backing Clinton.
Also on Aug. 22, Clinton will have dinner at the Beverly Park home of billionaire entertainment mogul Haim Saban and his wife, Cheryl, who also hosted Clinton during a May 2015 fundraising event.
The big-ticket event, an “Evening with Hillary Rodham Clinton,” will be co-hosted by Disney CEO Bob Iger and wife Willow Bay, DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg and wife Marilyn, Chernin Group CEO Peter Chernin and wife Megan, Legendary CEO Thomas Tull and wife Alba, MarketShare co-founder Jon Vein and wife Ellen, and sports executive Casey Wasserman and wife Laura. (Iger recently joined Wasserman’s effort to bring the 2024 Summer Olympics to LA.)
Tickets are priced at $2,700 per guest, but a donation of $27,000 gets guests a co-host title for the reception with Clinton. For $100,000 per couple, supporters can host the event with Clinton, which comes with a photo and dinner with the candidate. Tickets can be purchased here.
Then on Aug. 23, Clinton will head to Laguna Beach for two events.
At an “Afternoon Lunch with Hillary Rodham Clinton,” guests can pay $33,400 a ticket to earn “changemaker” status, which comes with an afternoon lunch and photo op with Clinton. For $100,000 per couple, guests can host the reception with Clinton, and also enjoy an afternoon lunch with the candidate.
The event is hosted by Janet Keller and Chantal and Stephen J. Cloobeck, chairman of Diamond Resorts. Tickets can be purchased here.
Later in the day, a “Conversation with Hillary Rodham Clinton” will be hosted by Mike Levin, Frank Barbaro, and Melahat Rafiei. Tickets (which can be purchased here) are priced at $2,700 per guest, with the option to raise $27,000 per guest and host the reception with Clinton.
These are some of many Hollywood A-listers to throw their support behind Clinton’s campaign. Other notable fundraisers have been hosted by George and Amal Clooney, as well as previous gatherings put on by the Katzenbergs and Brauns.
