He may play a science genius on The Big Bang Theory, but, apparently, Jim Parsons is too stupid for politics.
That’s the name of the Emmy winner and Hidden Figures co-star’s new SiriusXM talk show, which, fittingly, will launch its first episode on Inauguration Day, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. The live one-hour talker will run for six weeks on Bravo host Andy Cohen’s channel, Radio Andy (channel 102).
“Jim is the perfect addition to Radio Andy,” Cohen said in a statement. “His voice, humor and intellect are exactly what we need starting on Inauguration Day!”
Jim Parsons Is Too Stupid for Politics will feature experts on politics and international affairs and give listeners the opportunity to call in. “As a big consumer of political programs and all-around news junkie, I am excited to sit down and connect with some experts in our government system — from professors to authors — to really get a better idea of what goes on in Washington, D.C.,” Parsons said in a statement.
“Jim Parsons is one of the most popular comedic actors of his generation and SiriusXM is proud to welcome his very first show on radio,” SiriusXM President and Chief Content Officer Scott Greenstein said in a statement. “Listeners will be treated to his humor, quirkiness and great curiosity on a subject that’s on everybody’s mind. We will also get insight to his passion for political news and be treated to thoughtful conversations about today’s new world.”
