Kal Penn decided to have some fun at Kellyanne Conway’s expense while on the set of his ABC show Designated Survivor.
Hopping on the meme bandwagon, Penn recreated the now-viral couch photo of President Donald Trump’s senior counselor by hopping onto his knees and appearing to be glued to his phone while in the Oval Office set of the political drama.
Conway received instant backlash Monday when she was photographed during Trump’s meeting with leaders of historically black colleges and universities. While Trump posed for a group picture with his attendees, Conway was shown in the foreground perched on the White House couch, sitting on her knees and using her cell phone. The photos, which were distributed across wire services, had many questioning her respect for the Oval.
Conway released a statement Tuesday explaining that she was asked to take photos and knelt on the couch in order to do so. “I was asked to take a certain angle and was doing exactly that. I certainly meant no disrespect, I didn’t mean to have my feet on the couch,” she said.
Penn, who took time off from acting to work in the Obama administration, plays the press secretary to Kiefer Sutherland’s president on Designated Survivor.
The actor captioned his pic, “Kal-E-Anne.”

Gotta say, lots of reasons to call out Kellyanne Conway – but how she sits on a couch? I think that falls under both petty and unfocused.

My momma would whoop Kellyanne Conway’s ass if she put her feet on her couch like that, even with the plastic cover on it and whatnot

Here’s the photo many outlets didn’t publish. It explains why Conway was sitting that way. Still can’t believe we’re talking about a couch pic.twitter.com/iPhyr4eF7W
